NDIS & Plan Management
Can I use my NDIS funding to purchase from Sleep & Sound?
Yes. Many products are suitable for NDIS participants, particularly hearing protection, sleep aids, and sensory products. We provide tax invoices for plan-managed and self-managed participants.
How do I place an NDIS order?
Place your order online as normal. At checkout, select Direct Transfer as your payment method. Email info@sleepandsound.com.au with your participant's full name and NDIS number and we'll issue a compliant tax invoice.
Do you work with plan managers?
Yes. Your plan manager can pay via direct bank transfer. Include your NDIS participant name and number in the order notes and contact us to send the invoice directly to your plan manager.
Are your products registered on the NDIS price catalogue?
Our products are generally sold as everyday items and do not require NDIS price catalogue registration. Check with your plan manager or support coordinator to confirm eligibility under your specific plan.
Earplugs & Earmuffs
What's the difference between earplugs and earmuffs?
Earplugs are inserted into the ear canal — discreet and portable. Earmuffs sit over the ears and are easier to put on and remove, ideal for children, people with sensory sensitivities, or frequent removal situations.
Which provides better noise reduction — earplugs or earmuffs?
High-quality earplugs can achieve higher NRR ratings, but earmuffs are more practical for everyday use especially for children. For maximum protection, some people use both together.
Can children wear earplugs?
Standard adult earplugs are not suitable for young children. We recommend earmuffs for children under 10. For older children, smaller earplug options are available — check product pages for age recommendations.
What are filtered earplugs and who are they for?
Filtered earplugs like Eargasm and Alpine reduce noise evenly across frequencies so you can still hear speech and music clearly at a safer volume. Ideal for concerts, events, musicians, and people with noise sensitivity.
What types of earplugs do you offer for sleeping?
We offer foam, silicone, and wax earplugs, as well as high-fidelity filtered earplugs. Each offers different noise reduction and comfort levels — check product pages for NRR/SLC80 ratings.
White Noise Machines
What is a white noise machine and how does it help sleep?
A white noise machine produces a consistent, soothing sound that masks disruptive background noise — traffic, snoring, neighbours, or a restless household — helping your brain relax and stay asleep.
Which white noise machine is best for babies and young children?
The Hushh Portable White Noise Machine is popular for babies and toddlers — compact, rechargeable, and safe near infants. The Yogasleep Nod is another great option with a built-in nightlight.
Can I use a white noise machine all night?
Yes. White noise machines are designed for continuous use. Keep the volume comfortable — loud enough to mask noise, not so loud it becomes disruptive.
Are white noise machines safe for babies?
Yes, when used correctly. Keep the volume around 50–60dB and position it at least 1–2 metres from the baby. Product pages include model-specific safety guidance.
Anti-Snoring Products
What anti-snoring products do you stock?
We stock mandibular advancement devices (Somnofit, Somnofit-S), nasal dilators (Clipair), anti-snoring belts (Oscimed), and positional pillows (Posiform). Each works differently depending on the cause of snoring.
How do nasal breathing devices work?
Nasal dilators like Clipair gently open the nasal passages, improving airflow and reducing snoring caused by nasal obstruction. They are comfortable and non-invasive.
What is an anti-snoring belt?
Anti-snoring belts like the Oscimed belt are worn around the torso to encourage side sleeping. Sleeping on your back is a common cause of snoring — positional therapy can significantly reduce snoring frequency.
How do I know which anti-snoring product is right for me?
Mouth breathers often benefit from a mandibular advancement device. Nasal snorers may find a nasal dilator more effective. Contact info@sleepandsound.com.au for guidance, or speak with your GP or sleep specialist.
Are mandibular advancement devices (MADs) comfortable to wear?
There is usually an adjustment period of 1–2 weeks. The Somnofit range is adjustable and customisable. Most users find them comfortable after the initial break-in period.
Can I use these products if I have dental work, implants, or dentures?
Some devices are not suitable for certain dental conditions. Check the product page for contraindications and consult your dentist if unsure.
Aromatherapy & Sleep Aids
Do you sell aromatherapy oils and products?
Yes. We stock aromatherapy oils and sleep aids designed to support relaxation and better sleep. Essential oils are concentrated plant extracts known for their therapeutic properties, commonly used to promote calm and restful sleep.
How do sleep masks help with sleep?
Sleep masks block out unwanted light, creating a dark environment that signals to your brain it's time to sleep. A good sleep mask can significantly improve sleep quality for shift workers, travellers, or anyone sleeping in a light-filled room.
