What Causes Hearing Loss when Riding?
Many people think that being exposed to the loud sound of their motorcycle engine and surrounding traffic is what creates the ringing in their ears after a ride, or from not wearing the correct helmet.
Although this can be true to an extent, the big culprit is in fact the wind noise when riding.
“Wind noise” whilst riding a motorbike at highway speeds can measure upwards of 100 decibels. To help out things in perspective, this is actually comparable to the noise level of a chainsaw!
